modified old table base

ninja genius attack! couldn't figure out a good way to strenghthen the middle of this span (it's 77"), then it hit me, modify the base from the table the girls were using (in the living room!) Hey, most people would think of it right off, I'm just impressed to have thought of it at all :)

sweet music

finally, bluetooth music on my iPhone via the  infinxx AP23! well one caviot, this does not work with my plantronics 510 voyager, so I ordered a jobra 8010 stereo headset. It did pair easily with the infinxx AP23 and the sound quality is ok, but iy is annoyingly uncomfortable. I don't know if I will keep it or try something else.

texture

if it's worth doing...so much for a quick build! My house was built in 1959 and has doughnut board with smooth plaster on the walls, but I really like the look of a soft hand texture and have applied it to most of the house so I decided to do it in here also and know that if I don't do it now, I probably wont ever get it done.

Man cave

It's working. I feel smarter! And I haven't begun studying yet :) I'm sure that allready having bought and installed the hollow core door, I'm going to wish I had sprung for the solid door. It is the weak link in soundproofing the room. I've ordered some "egg crate" foam on the cheap and am going to try to rip the door in half and install the foam in the middle and glue it back together. Hummm, measure twice, cut once.....

The sancuary

Almost ready to button it up. Ahhh I can feel the silence already! Anyone who's just became a Granddad and has a newborn around with alot of commotion can appreciate the addition of a "quiet" room. I googled "sound proofing a room" and followed the directions on how to build a free floating wall system using copper pipe insulation and 2x6 framing. Works like a charm.
